My Approach & Methods

The core of my apporach is a philophy in the training world known as LIMA, Least invasive, most effective. I am dedicated to this, because it can often be a win-win for humans and dogs. Sometimes the simplest soluations can be very effective, and we can avoid getting overly complicated. This philosphy calls for positive reinforcement, as it is the most effective, easiest way to see successful behavior modifcations without risking fallout.

I also take pride in understnading the humans needs, meeting my clients where they are and striving to set everyone up for sustainable success. Private training allows me to get to know families and craft remedies that work for the whole family, long term. I want to help you build solutions that fit into your lives and create successes for everyone.

I believe the best way to acheive this is to continue my education in dog behavior regualry. I take classes and attend conferences, to keep my knowledge up to date, challenge myself to new ways of problem soloveing and reinforce things I already know well.

I help families with a wide variety of behavioral challenges but I love working on;

Door Manners, Leash Skills, Reactivity, Calmer behaviors in public, Teenage dogs.

I will refer the following cases to collegues - Seperation Anxiety, Intrahousehold Aggression.

My Background

My career with dogs began in 2009 working in a grooming salon & the boarding kennels of a post-surgical vetrinary facility. Doing so I gained knowledge, experience and confidence in handling dogs. I also met my soul dog, Emilea in 2010.

In 2014, I started Eastside Dog Services, to provide in-home customized care for dogs with a wide variety of needs. That business grew and expanded quickly. We grew our client base and our team, as well as offered a wide variety of services. Running a business of that size and variety allowed me to continue to grow and emerse myself in the world of dog. I love to learn and continued to educate myself regularly.

In 2019, after years of work and education, I earned my training certificate through the CCPDT. I encorperated training into the existing services the business offered.

2023 a big change came to my family, my daughter was born! In an effort to gain a better work life balance for my daughter, and now older dog I decided it was time to focus on just training & behavior consulting.
